To recognize glass-faults and contaminations certainly and objectively in the double glazing manufacturing, wins at meaning more and more. The customers are demanding still higher claims to the glass quality while the prices for double glazing are sinking. After the very successful introduction of our particular illumination-arrangement in December 2001, we enlarged our product spectrum with a camera-system for the automatic fault-detection.

Station for visual inspection from Lenhardt

Station for visual inspection from Lisec

Insulation glass manufacturers like Interpane, Isolar, Pilkington, Saint Gobain, Sanco, AGC, Scheuten, Schollglas and Semco use this illumination system. This system has proved itselves in Germany, Italy, Denmark, Belgium, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Austria, France and Sweden.

With the camera-system OGI-2000, the same illumination-procedure is applied like our special-illumination for the station for visual inspection station. The double glazing manufacturer have now a complete system to the glass-examination to their disposal. On the basis of the same lighting system, the employees sees the faults in the station for visual inspection equally, like the camera-system the faults recognizes and shows.

Camera-system

The camera-system will be built behind the washing-machine and verifies the glass plates, they stand in a angle of 6 degree and it check them when they came out of the washing-machine. The inspektionlevel of the camera-system is 1,6 m until 2,5 m ( If you want, you can get it higher) The glass thickness could be between 3 mm – 10 mm. The glass width  is between 0,3 m and 3 m. The glass plate could be coated or uncoated. For the fault detection we use the same lighting system as for the lighting system for stations for visual inspection.

The base for the fault rating of the camera-system is the german directive " General policy for the appraisal of visual quality from double glazing"

Structured glass or frosted glass won`t be tested, the camera-system marks this on the monitor-surface.

With the development of the camera-system, together with well-known double glazing manufacturers we took good care to make it user-friendly.

Performance

Each glass plate is represented visibly in its form on a monitor for the employees. Serious faults appear red and easy faults green.

For different quality standarts you can choose different sensibilities.
The fault-position and fault-type for each glass plate will be saved and can be used later for documentation-purposes.

With a sensor signal at the arrival from the glass plate in the visual inspection station the next glass plate file will be opend automatically and the user see it on the monitor.

Over a connection from the camera system to the product line, the order dates of the glass plate dimensions are saved. These dimensions will be compared with the real glass plate dimensions and it make it viewable for the control.

How many glass plates still standing between camera-system and visual inspection station, you can see in the lower border of the monitor.

When important errors are found out, you can see it on the monitor in form of a red rectangle on the right bottem. The faulty glass plate in the visual inspection station can be cleaned or take off.

Characteristics of the camera-system

- Lenhardt-Lines, Lisec-Lines as well as other Lines can be equipped with the camera-system.
- Objectiv appraisal of results for the glass quality
- You can find very quick the faults in the glas plates and so you can increase the production
- individual adaption by using different sensibilities
- Documentation and archival storage of the glass plate quality for the verification of the
  results for the customers

The camera-system was integrated 2006 as an automatic system for the first time in a Triulzi line. Here, the good / bad decision is taken only through the camera no more from the employees. The good / bad signal goes to the line-control. The glass plate is sorted automatically out or remains in the production-process.
